M308A9 OPERATORS GUIDE

WARNING

Failure to follow installation and maintenance instructions detailed in this guide may result in serious personal injury and damage to the suppressor and  host firearm.

Firearm sound suppressors are user-attached firearm muzzle devices, and as such are subject to improper attachment issues unless the procedures outlined in this guide are followed precisely. Do not attempt to use this product unless you have specific training and experience in the use of firearms and suppressors.

Before installing or removing the M308A9 sound suppressor from the host weapon, be sure that the weapon is unloaded and the action is opened so that it is visibly clear of any ammunition. If you are at all unsure as to the proper procedures to ensure that your firearm is unloaded, please consult your firearm user’s manual/instructions and/or contact a properly licensed dealer or the manufacturer of your weapon.

Because suppressed firearms make less noise than unsuppressed firearms, it is easy to forget that they are still firearms and capable of causing bodily injury and property damage. It is of vital importance to remember that a suppressed firearm is just as dangerous as an unsuppressed firearm, and that the same safe handling requirements still apply.

M308A9

The M308A9 is a Titanium monocore suppressor, lighter and quieter than any other multi-caliber suppressor on the market. In addition to its performance, the M308A9's design allows for maximum user adaptability and convenience. Each M308A9 comes with an Advanced Quick Detach(AQD) mount complete with an AQD muzzle brake in 1/2 X 28 or 5/8 X 24, (Selected at time of purchase).

All other accessories, including additional AQD muzzle devices A9 Booster assembly, and MP5 tri-lug adapter are sold separately.

The M308A9 is full-auto rated and is compatible with a range of ammunition from 9MM to .300 Winchester Short Magnum.

WARNING

The M308A9 is not compatible with .270 Winchester. The .270 Winchester exceeds the safe working pressure of the M308A9.

The M308A9 is rated down to 10" barrels for .223 Remington/5.56 NATO, 16" barrels for .308 Winchester/7.62 NATO, and 20” barrels for .300 WSM.

WARNING

The M308A9 was updated in 2023. Older M308A9 suppressors are not compatible with .270 Winchester and ammunition with a higher pressure than .300 WSM. M308A9 suppressors with the serial number starting with a 21-XXXX or 22-XXXX are the older design. M308A9 suppressors with the serial number starting with a 23-XXXX are the new design and are compatible with .270 Winchester with 20" barrels, up to .300 RUM. Do not exceed the pressure of .300 RUM.

Suppressors must be free of obstructions such as mud, dirt, etc. Do NOT attempt to shoot through an obstructed suppressor.

The M308A9 was designed to be used “dry” and free of any ablative media, such as grease and water. If submerged in water, allow the suppressor to completely dry before use.

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF THE AQD MOUNT

Thread the AQD Mount assembly onto the M308A9 suppressor body by hand, taking care not to cross-thread.

Hold the M308A9 body with a firm grip. Using the hand grasp the base of the AQD mount, tighten the coupler in a clockwise direction.

Torque to slightly over hand tight.

To remove, perform steps in reverse order.

INSTALLATION ON HOST FIREARM, AQD MOUNT

Verify the AQD collar is in the unlocked position, with locking collar rotated clockwise, before installing.

Install the M308A9 by sliding the back end over the muzzle brake until it stops, then turn the suppressor clockwise to hand tighten.
Rotate the AQD collar counter-clockwise to the locked position.

To remove, perform steps in reverse order.

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF THE A9 BOOSTER AND MP5 TRI-LUG MOUNT

Remove the AQD mount following the instruction in the REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF THE AQD MOUNT guide.

Thread the A9 Booster or MP5 Tri-Lug Mount onto the M308A9 suppressor body by hand, taking care not to cross-thread.

Hold the M308A9 body with a firm grip. Grasp the knurled area at the center of the A9 Booster or MP5 Tri-Lug Mount, tighten the Booster or MP5 Tri-Lug Mount in a clockwise direction.

Torque to slightly over hand tight.

INSTALLATION ON THE HOST FIREARM, A9 BOOSTER AND MP5 TRI-LUG MOUNT

After confirming that your firearm is unloaded, place the threaded end of the A9 Booster in line with the threads of the barrel. Taking care not to cross-thread, screw the suppressor onto the barrel until it is firmly secured and no additional barrel threading is visible.

To remove from host, reverse these instructions.

After confirming that your firearm is unloaded, place the open end of the MP5 Tri-Lug Mount in line with the barrel. Align the mount with the lugs on the barrel until the mount drops over the lugs on the barrel. Grasp the body of the suppressor and push down firmly. Rotate the suppressor 1/4 turn counter clockwise while maintaining downward pressure until it stops. Release the suppressor. Some rotational movement of the suppressor is normal after mounting.

To remove from host, reverse these instructions.

WARNING

Some MP5 submachineguns and clones have threaded barrels with a thread protector. Before mounting the suppressor on the host firearm ensure that the thread protector is tight and
no additional barrel or threading is visible. If the thread protector becomes loose it can enter the suppressor and may result in serious personal injury and damage to the suppressor and host firearm.

WARNING

The use of the A9 booster assembly allows pistols to properly cycle when the weight of a suppressor is added to the end of the barrel. Most pistols with a browning type action (Glock, Sig Sauer, HK and etc.) will require a booster to properly cycle. The A9 Booster assembly is for use with centerfire pistol ammo on semi-auto handguns only. No rimfire ammo in this device. It will cause baffle strikes and sluggish operation.

The use of the MP5 Tri-Lug Mount allows for quick mounting and dismounting of the suppressor on the MP5 submachinegun or firearms with fixed barrels and HK Tri-Lug mounts. The MP5 Tri-Lug Mount is not designed for high pressured calibers. These are designed for low pressure rounds like 9mm or subsonic rounds.

MAINTENANCE

The M308A9 requires limited maintenance.

AQD Mounts/A9 Booster assembly, MP5 Tri-Lug Mount, and AQD muzzle breaks should periodically be cleaned with any standard gun cleaning solvent and a soft bristle brush to remove any carbon or fouling.

The MP5 Tri-Lug Mount should be periodically disassembled to re-grease the O-Rings located on the piston and mount body. Ensure that the piston sits flush with the mount body after reassembly. High temperature anti-seize is the recommended lubricant for the MP5 Tri-Lug Mount.

If necessary, run a soft bristle cleaning brush through the bore to remove any light fouling of the suppressor.

A light coat of anti-seize compound should be applied to the threads of the AQD mount/A9 Booster/MP5 Tri-Lug Mount assembly periodically to prevent carbon locking/seizing of the threads to the suppressor body.

Do not run cleaning patches through the bore of the suppressor as the patches might become lodged in the suppressor and cause damage upon firing.

CAUTION

Always read the warning label on any cleaner or solvent, and remember that virtually all solvents are inherently dangerous and potentially toxic. Always use adequate ventilation and both skin and eye protection when using solvents.

WARNING

After use the suppressor body will be very hot. Do not touch the suppressor body with bare hands. Touching a hot suppressor will result in serious burns and injuries. Allow the suppressor to cool to ambient temperature before handling or placing it in a case for storage.

WARNING

AQD muzzle devices should only be installed and aligned by a competent and qualified gunsmith. A miss-aligned or loose AQD muzzle device will cause baffle strikes and damage to the suppressor and host firearm, a misaligned muzzle device may not be visible to the naked eye. Do not reuse crush washers or peal washers when installing the AQD muzzle device, install the AQD muzzle device with a new crush washer or peal washer. AQD muzzle devices should be torqued to 15 to 20 ft lbs. Proper alignment of the AQD muzzle device is critical to prevent baffle and end cap strikes. Alignment should be checked with AQD muzzle device installed and properly torqued and with the suppressor installed on the host firearm using precision alignment gauges.

WARNING

The AQD Mount/A9 Booster assembly, MP5 Tri-Lug Mount and AQD muzzle device is not compatible with any other brand of silencer/suppressor. The M308A9 is not compatible with any other brand of mounts or muzzle devices. Use of other brand devices could result in baffle strikes, damage to the suppressor and/or host firearm, and serious personal injury.

WARNING

All NFA Rules apply to the possession and use of firearm silencers/suppressors.
